Artist's Comments

Another merwoman, slightly more savage than the others and modeled after the lionfish, originally was intended to go in between the other two merfolk paintings. However, it turned out to be much better looking and far darker overall, which threw the whole balance of the three of them together off. Yeah, maybe I could put them on the same wall, but not all within 2 inches of one another as originally intended.

30"x40", acrylic on 1/2" MDF panel.

It's beautiful. I really the effect that the light creates on the rock- the golden and green highlights look great.

It's times like this I wish I had a better digital camera! The rocks in the background have a lot more texture than this picture lets on.

Thank you, though! I did the background first and was rather entranced by it. :D
